Overview
The department was established in parallel with the faculty’s establishment on the 15th of June 1977. Its main aim is to contribute to preparing expert teachers and researchers in all different scientific specializations.

The department seeks to achieve educational leadership and Excellency, locally, regionally, and globally in the field of Curriculum, Education Methods, and Educational Technology, besides the program of preparing a teacher in the field of education, scientific education, and community services.
Mission
The department seeks to contribute to preparing teachers and highly qualified researchers to join academic, educational, and training programs that match local and global guidelines. We are working on promoting the level of Curriculum, Teaching Methods, and Educational Technology in order to be the window of experience, providing consulting services to stakeholders, which collaborates in achieving professional development for teachers along all specializations.
Goals
- To prepare qualified cadres of educational and scientific research skills along all specializations, as to take over its role in educational scientific leadership inside educational organizations.
- To cooperate with educational system officials in applying research and studies results, in order to promote the Curriculum with all of its elements along all stages.
- To increase the department’s ability in advancing education, scientific research, and community services.
- To support teachers with theoretical and practical experiences in the field of Curriculum, Education Methods, and Educational Technology in different specializations.
- To provide scientific consultation for educational organizations in the field of preparing curriculum, education methods, and educational technology and its assessment.
- To develop skills in using the latest technological methods in the educational process.
- To direct researchers to research and postgraduate studies, which contributes to providing solutions for educational problems related to disabled members.

Faculty of Education, Suez Canal University, grants the student a Bachelor's degree in Curriculum, Education Methods, and Educational Technology specialization. The education period is 4 years, in order to earn Bachelor's degree.
The department specializes in studying the courses coded with (Curr), which tackles the educational curriculum, planning, designing, educational skills, methods, and strategies. Besides targeted audience education (disabled and talented students), field education, adults curriculum and their education methods, infant curriculum, including methods and educational strategies, and primary curriculum, including methods and educational strategies.
The department includes other different courses, for example, communication and information theories in the education field, methods and tools of education, educational technology design, operating educational devices, and maintaining them. Also, the department supports the usage of speakers, the latest devices, information flow systems, the technology for teaching special groups (disabled and talented students), education and learning technology electronic programs, the production of educational programming, and other aspects.
Terms of Acceptance:
In order to be registered in the Faculty of Education, Suez Canal University, Students must be:
- Meet all acceptance conditions, defined by the Supreme Council of Universities.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from another country.
- To be totally free for education.
- To pass all aptitude tests assigned by the faculty, for example:
- Interview for the student
- Abilities test
- Medical test
Education Period
- The education period inside the faculty to earn Bachelor's degree is 4 years, divided into two stages. The first stage is divided into 1st and 2nd academic years and the Second stage is divided into 3rd and 4th academic years.
- The academic year is divided into two semesters, the period of each of them is 17 weeks; (15) educational weeks and (2) weeks for exams.
- The student is not shifted to 2nd year, in case he is not passing all courses. In case of failure in one course or more, the student takes the exam in the 2nd round.
- The student is shifted from 1st year to 2nd then to 3rd then to 4th, in case he succeeds in all courses, but if the student failed in one course or more, the student takes the exam in the 2nd round.
- The education language in all divisions is Arabic except in foreign divisions (English- French).
- The education language of English specializations is English.
- Educational courses’ education language is Arabic in all divisions, except in foreign divisions, which will be with its language. As for scientific specializations, the education language is English.
- The student is obliged to attend 75% of scientific and theoretical courses.
- The written exam period is two hours and three hours for long periods of courses.
- A student who failed in field training will fail in the academic year.
- The final grade is calculated according to the grade total average during the 4 years.
Grading system:
- Excellent: 100% to 90%
- Very Good: 90% to 80%
- Good: 80% to 70%
- Accepted: 70 to 60%
- Weak: 60% to 40%
- Very week: less than 40%
Faculty of Education, Suez Canal University, offers different degrees, such as:
- Diploma degree
- Master’s degree
- Ph.D. degree
Education system:
The student is allowed to register in spring or fall time semesters, with a maximum of 20 credit hours per semester. It is allowed for the student to register in the summer semester, with a maximum of 9 hours. Registration hours are not considered with research paper registration.
Terms of Acceptance:
- Students must be a holder of Bachelor's degrees from known universities.
- Students much are matching scientific department conditions and get approval from the department’s council and faculty’s council.
- Students must submit all documents required to postgraduate and research administration.
- Student registration is not taken into consideration, only after paying all fees.
- The student who doesn’t finish all registration procedures, before the end of 2nd week of the fall semester or summer semester, or 1st week of the summer semester, is not allowed to attend lectures.
Curriculum, Education Methods, and Educational Technology are giving great attention to research and educational studies. We are working to keep pace with fast developments happening in learning and education theories, technical and technological development, in addition to education outputs related to brain research.
Our research plan lasts for 5 five years, putting in concern quick development movements that may occur in the field of education theories, educational programs, teaching strategies, and technology applications and finally deploy them in E-learning progress.
The department has a lot of projects including:
- Educational assessment project, along with brain research results.
- Development of knowledge administration along different specializations projects.
- New applied technologies for E-learning project during Corona Epidemic virus lockdown.
- Development of a scientific education project and a database during Corona epidemic virus lockdown.
