The Community Services and Environmental Affairs Sector is one of the most important sectors that connect the faculty as a source of education with the surrounding community. This is considered one of the main essential cores that could serve internal and external communities. Our sector’s role has been determined by the internal statute of universities organization rule no.49, the year 1972. The sector has to do the following deeds:
- To supervise plans and programs that are related to community services and environmental development.
- To supervise strategic and operational plans that are related to the development of self-resources which is reflected in the ability to attain vision, mission, and goals.
- To supervise training programs implementation that serves the Sector of Community services and Environmental development.
- To supervise and follow up with all units of crisis, circumstances, safety, professional health, and civil defense.
- To supervise the environmental projects including all of its sustainable goals.
Mission
The sector is doing surveys for the community and surrounding environment together with a set group of serving plans that the faculty may offer. This is along with meeting the needs of the community through the participation of academic staff members, their cooperators, and students. The sector strengthens the relationships with external community authorities for the sake of human cadres’ development including students and graduates with their effective participation in community services along the values and professional manners frame.
Vision
The Community Services and Environment Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Education, Suez Canal University (SCU), is seeking to be an effective entity that contributes in organizing and implementing different programs for the sake of community service and environment development according to community needs through determining strategies and methods that introduces community and environment services, in addition, to achieve effective collaboration between the faculty and community’s parties.
Sector’s goals
The sector is targeting:
- Strengthen the relationships between the faculty and community parties in different activities and programs.
- Attain the highest rates of community participation.
- Preserve environmental safety by detecting environmental problems and find out solutions.
- Offer scientific and technical consultations for new projects.
- Support faculty’s financial sources.
- Spread environmental and health awareness inside and outside the faculty.
