Overview


Our department is considered one of the scientific departments in the Faculty of Education - at Suez Canal University. The department contributes to preparing teachers for the basic, secondary education, and kindergarten stages. In addition to this, the department participates in preparing specialized researchers in Educational Management and policies and Comparative Education and qualifying them to occupy leading positions in the learning and education sector and other services sectors. The department introduces different kinds of activities to serve Canal and Sinai communities.

Vision
The department is looking forward to distinguishing and competing locally, regionally, and globally, in preparing teachers and researchers in order to serve the local and global community.

Mission
The department seeks to provide better education and research chances for students, with a high level of quality and according to the national guidelines. It also supports students with an educational atmosphere that encourages them to put more and more effort and helps in graduating expert teachers who will contribute to enhancing the community’s learning quality and continuous cooperation with local authorities. It will contribute to achieving sustainable development for educational field employees and offering a better research environment that helps in solving educational problems, enriching learning and education culture, and developing educational systems and management in the Egyptian community.

Goals

  • To develop students’ awareness towards educational conceptual bases and their applications globally.
  • To emphasize students’ connection with Egyptian, Arabic, and global educational environment.
  • To promote students’ skills, as to understand educational and management contemporary trends, which are the continuous source for updating his knowledge.
  • To develop students’ abilities to understand and analyze mutual impressionism relations between educational systems and their environments.
  • To know the role of comparative education research and educational management research in developing communities and solving their problems.
  • To enable the student to technicalities and methods of comparative education methods and educational management research.
  • To exchange experiences and management skills in educational management fields.
     
Undergraduates

Faculty of Education, Suez Canal University, grants the student a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Education, Educational Management and Planning specialization. The education period is 4 years in order to earn Bachelor's degree.
The department specializes in studies of courses coded with (Com Ed.). The courses include education systems, history, and comparative studies that include: status studies, logical and illogical studies, international education, continuous learning systems, e-learning, and international studies. In addition to raising management and educational management, school management, education planning, economics, management information systems, education funding, educational supervision, institutional calendar, quality assurance, guidelines, and educational quality, finally academic assurance for education systems, and preparing a teacher.

Terms of Acceptance:
In order to be registered in the Faculty of Education, Suez Canal University, Students must be:

  • Meet all acceptance conditions, defined by the Supreme Council of Universities.
  • To be totally free for education.
  • To pass all aptitude tests assigned by the faculty, for example:
  1. Interview for the student
  2. Abilities test
  3. Medical test

Education Period

  • The education period inside the faculty to earn Bachelor's degree is 4 years and divided into two stages. The first stage is divided into 1st and 2nd academic years and the Second stage is divided into 3rd and 4th academic years.
  • The academic year is divided into two semesters. The period for each of them is 17 weeks; (15) educational weeks and (2) weeks for exams.
  • The student is not shifted to 2nd year if he did not pass all courses. In case of failure in one course or more, the student takes the exam in the 2nd round.
  • The student is shifted from 1st year to 2nd then to 3rd then to 4th, in case he succeeds in all courses, but if the student failed in one course or more, the student takes the exam in the 2nd round.
  • The education language in all divisions is Arabic except in foreign divisions (English- French).
  • The education language of English specializations is English.
  • Educational courses’ education language is Arabic in all divisions, except in foreign divisions, which will be with its language. As for scientific specializations, the education language is English.
  • The student is obliged to attend 75% of scientific and theoretical courses.
  • The written exam period is two hours and three hours for long periods of courses.
  • A student who failed in field training will fail in the academic year.
  • The final grade is calculated according to the grade total average during the 4 years.

Grading system:    

  • Excellent: 100% to 90%
  • Very Good: 90% to 80%
  • Good: 80% to 70%
  • Accepted: 70 to 60%
  • Weak: 60% to 40%
  • Very week: less than 40%
     
Postgraduates

Faculty of Education, Suez Canal University, offers different degrees, such as:

  • Diploma degree
  • Master’s degree
  • Ph.D. degree

Education system:
The student is allowed to register in spring or fall time semesters, with a maximum of 20 credit hours per semester. It is allowed for the student to register in the summer semester, with a maximum of 9 hours. Registration hours are not considered with research paper registration.

Terms of Acceptance:

  • Students must be a holder of Bachelor's degrees from known universities.
  • Students much are matching scientific department conditions and get approval from the department’s council and faculty’s council.
  • Students must submit all documents required to postgraduate and research administration.
  • Student registration is not taken into consideration, only after paying all fees.
  • The student who doesn’t finish all registration procedures, before the end of 2nd week of the fall semester or summer semester, or 1st week of the summer semester, is not allowed to attend lectures.
